The darkest of all German bier styles, the Schwarzbier is a Black Lager with smooth malt flavors of roasted coffee and chocolate, moderate bitterness and a crisp, clean finish. This opaque-black bier is similar to Stouts in that it is made from roasted malt - which gives it its dark color.
