The Loser Pale Ale was first made in 2007 as a collaboration between Elysian and Sub Pop Records, Seattle’s independent record label that signed artists Nirvana and Soundgarden. Loser was one of the first general production beers to use Sorachi Ace hops, the obscure Japanese variety that’s grown exclusively in Washington’s Yakima Valley. The cocunutty, compelling flavor carries through the beer, combining with crisp, citrus notes, orange aromas, and malty, robust honey tones. It finishes with light tropical flavors and mild hops.
