Thomas Hooker Brewing Company

Connecticut

Thomas Hooker Brewery, located in Bloomfield, is Connecticut’s local craft brewery with a national reputation. It gets its name from the great colonial leader of the 1600’s and founder of Hartford, Rev. Thomas Hooker. This premium brewery pays homage to its state’s history and has been crafting small batch beers with quality ingredients since 2003.

The brewery was first established as the Trout Brook Brew Pub, but in 2006 changed ownership and the products were re-introduced to the market as Thomas Hooker Ales & Lagers. Current owner Curt Cameron has brought major prestige to the brand and he works closely with head brewer Mike Labbe to make Thomas Hooker the first choice among Connecticut’s beer drinkers.

Their ongoing mission is to make beer the way it’s meant to be made: hand-crafted from the finest malts, hops and essential ingredients and painstakingly true to style. Since Curt Cameron purchased the brewery in 2006, production has tripled, he’s added a second brewmaster, and relocated the Thomas Hooker Brewery operations into a large 8,000 square foot facility. The brewery’s been named the 73rd Best Brewer in the World by RateBeer.com and ranked Number 15 in the Top 50 American Micro Breweries by the Beer Advocate. It seems he’s doing something right!

Local enthusiasts have made a routine of visiting the Bloomfield brewery for their weekly Saturday Tours and Tastings of the eleven different beers (7 ales and 4 lagers) that are known for their consistency and quality. Owner Curt Cameron and Brewer Mike Labbe are confident that after tasting these featured brews, you’ll be hooked on the Thomas Hooker brand as well. Cheers!
