Prost Brewing Company
Dedicated to brewing authentic, German-style brews
Located in the Lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, Prost Brewing Company is a relative newcomer to the state’s reputable craft beer scene. The brewery, which was founded in 2012, became the city’s first German-style brewery, focusing exclusively on authentic, German style ‘biers’ brewed in accordance to the German Purity Law of 1516, or the Reinheitsgebot (pronounced rhine-hites-geh-boat), which limits the ingredients in beer to water, barley and hops. The name of the brewery, Prost, is a German word that translates to ‘To your health!’ or ‘Cheers!’
The opening of Prost Brewing Company was one of the most anticipated events of the year for the Colorado beer industry. The team of owners behind the brand showed their dedication to crafting German-style beers by purchasing a 50+ year-old copper brewing system from a small German town near Bamberg in Bavaria, Germany. It took months to transport the equipment to Denver, but the effort was well worth it to the small brewing team. They are proud to be sharing this tradition and history with the beer lovers of Colorado.
Prost beers are notable for their approachability, clean flavors and the exclusive use of German ingredients. Many of the beers have been honored with multiple awards from national beer competitions and the brewery continues to gain popularity as one of the top craft brewers in the state. Brewing operations are currently overseen by Head Brewer, Brad Landman, who came to Prost after gaining experience at Mountain Sun and Wynkoop Brewing Company. His passion for quality craft beer comes through in each of Prost’s traditional German beers.
Prost Brewing Company’s tasting room is also unique with its biergarten and genuine beer hall feel complete with traditional beer tent flags, huge steins, antique beer signs, and long communal tables that encourage a friendly and lively atmosphere for enjoying authentic German brews. A second tasting room location is currently under construction in Fort Collins, Colorado and due to open its doors in late spring of 2016.
