Mispillion River Brewing Co.
A fast-growing Milford, Delaware craft brewery, Mispillion River Brewing releases creatively named, original brews of the highest quality
The story of Mispillion River Brewing Company began on the morning after Eric William’s 40th birthday. While most 40 year-olds celebrate their midlife crisis with fancy new cars, Eric woke up and told his wife, “Megan, we are going to open a craft brewery in Milford!” Two years later, after planning, brewing (and tasting!), traveling the country, and assembling a team of partners, Mispillion River Brewing Company opened its doors in Milford, Delaware in 2013. Since then, it has been Eric and Megan’s goal to use the highest quality barley, hops, water and yeast to produce the finest beers possible. Beer is their passion and the local community is their motivation.
Just four months after opening, Mispillion River Brewing Company placed at the World Beer Cup Competition, taking home a Silver Medal for their Beach Bum Joe, an American Belgo Style Ale. The brewery was also one of the fastest in the state to begin distribution, just two months after opening. All of this early success set the bar very high for the new brewery, but they have yet to slow down and continue to earn awards and medals across the country.
Before starting Mispillion River Brewing Company, Eric Williams was working in corporate management and hated it. He would come home and unwind on the weekends by brewing beer in his garage. His recipes got better and better, and he earned a number of awards in home-brewing contests. As his passion and knowledge for the industry grew, so did his desire to run his own business and leave the corporate world behind.
The creative and thoughtfully conceived Mispillion River Brewing is rapidly expanding and is now a thriving Milford brewery that is destined for a very successful future. We are happy to share two of their go-to offerings with our Craft Beer Club members and hope you enjoy!
