Fordham & Dominion Brewing Co.
Two prominent Mid-Atlantic craft breweries join forces to brew a variety of award-winning brews and sodas from Dover, Delaware.
A tale of two breweries, Fordham & Dominion Brewing Company was established in 2007 as two separate entities who shared values and a common philosophy of quality brewing decided to join forces. They have built an incredibly successful partnership and today, share a joint brewery in Dover, Delaware with roots running deep throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
It all started more than 300 years ago when Fordham Brewing Company was originally founded by Benjamin Fordham in Annapolis, Maryland in 1703. In 1995, the brewery was reborn in a state-of-the-art Bavarian brewery at the Rams Head Tavern in downtown Annapolis. Using time-honored traditions and modern brewing techniques, Fordham Brewing Company quickly reestablished itself as a local leader in the craft beer movement. As Fordham’s reputation spread throughout the Chesapeake region, the brewery decided to relocate to Dover, Delaware in 2003, where there was room expand.
Old Dominion Brewing Company, on the other hand, got its start in 1989 when a brewpub operation was established in Ashburn, Virginia. The small brewpub quickly became a production brewery that was named one of the Top 50 Breweries in the U.S. by Fortune Magazine. The brewery cultivated a community, in which many discovered the joy and wonder of craft beer, inspiring many of the company’s brewers to start successful breweries of their own.
In 2007, Fordham and Dominion decided to challenge expectations and defy the ordinary by joining forces and consolidating their operations, merging the two craft breweries while maintaining their separate identities. The joint brewery is located in Dover, Delaware and it provides a space where beer loves from near and far can stop by, get to know the people behind the two brands, and enjoy the handcrafted beers and sodas they have to offer.
Today, Fordham & Dominion Brewing Company remains dedicated to their craft, putting a lot of emphasis on the quality and uniqueness of what they have to offer. With a diverse line-up of premium award-winning ales, lagers, stouts, and sodas, and weekly tours of the state-of-the-art brewery, this is a must-visit brewery destination in Dover, Delaware. We hope you enjoy these two selections in your Craft Beer Club shipment. Cheers!
