Award-winning beers from the charming historic district of Moline, Illinois.

Located in the heart of the National Registered Historic District of Moline, Illinois, Bent River Brewing Company was founded by Tim Koster in 1996. Tim was originally the owner of Koski’s Home Brew Fixens in downtown Moline, and with the help of investors, turned his dream of opening a brewery into a reality. He transformed the Koski’s home brew store into a brew pub and had his first keg of Bent River beer flowing by 1999.

This original Bent River Brewing location is still used as a brew pub today, offering visitors a range of award-winning craft beers on tap, a great selection of pub food, and one of the coolest beer gardens in the Quad Cities region (a group of five cities straddling the Mississippi River on the Iowa-Illinois border - Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, Moline, and East Moline). Its turn-of-the-century, Italian Renaissance style building (complete with decorative stone arches) also adds a unique historic quality to the brewery.

In 2008, Steve Ratcliff became the Head Brewer at Bent River, around the same time that ownership changed and Joel Krogman became the new president of the brewery. Through their teamwork, and with the help of general managers Nick Bowes and Tim Finch, Bent River Brewing Company has grown exponentially. In fact, they purchased a second location in Rock Island, Illinois in May 2012 to primarily serve as a distribution center to keep up with the growing demand. The new site includes a bottling line, shipping center, tasting bar, and event center. Since adding the new location, Bent River has increased its production to over 10,000 barrels annually, while still efficiently brewing and distributing throughout the region.

In 2016, Bent River added a third location - a brew pub in Burlington, Iowa, with plans to start brewing beer there sometime this year. It became the city’s first ever brew pub and is already a popular attraction in the downtown scene.
