Appalachian Brewing Company is a unique micro brewery located in downtown Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The city’s first brewery since Prohibition, Appalachian Brewing Company (ABC) is continuing Harrisburg’s long standing brewing tradition dating back to the 1700’s. With the opening of its doors in January of 1997, ABC brought the return of fine brewing to Harrisburg.
The brewery is housed in an impressive three-story brick and heavy timber structure, built in 1915. This historic downtown building was once occupied by a number of old establishments including the Harrisburg Passenger Railway Company and the Auchenbach Printing Company in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Its antique brick walls, massive wooden beams, hardwood floors and ceilings provide a warmth and inner glow rivaled only by their award-winning beer.
ABC handcrafts their beers with 100% natural ingredients while following strict
craft-brewing standards. Their Brewmaster and brewers have consistently produced
world-class beers since the first batch was released to the market in 1997. The
beers have since garnered a loyal regional following and are among the most desired craft brews in the state.
ABC has already expanded to Gettysburg, and opened a brew pub in nearby Camp
Hill. Their plan is to stay as local as possible, while keeping up with the growing customer demand. We hope you enjoy this month’s selections from one of Pennsylvania’s top craft breweries! Cheers!
