What is beer color determined by?
Beer color is directly related to the malt content. The most common color is a pale amber produced from using pale malts. Dark beers are usually brewed from a pale malt or lager malt base with a small proportion of darker malt added to achieve the desired shade. Caramel can also be used to darken beers. Very dark beers, such as a stout, use dark or patent malts that have been roasted longer.

Cascade hops are the most widely used hops by craft brewers in the U.S. It has a pleasant flowery and spicy, citrus-like quality with slight grapefruit characteristics. Cascade hops are good for both flavor and aroma uses.
