Saturday, December 10th is National Lager Day!
Do you know the origins of the Lager brew style? The word lager or lagering in German means storeroom or to store. This was a typical practice for early brewers who would craft their beers in the winter months and lager them in caves to ferment and to protect them from the heat when summer came around.
Nowadays, with the nifty invention of the refrigerator, we can brew delicious lager beers year-round. You can read more about a few different types of lagers below...and of course, crack open a cold one today and celebrate!
